Looe Key

South-facing reef in the Lower Keys off Big Pine Key. North and west swells almost completely blocked by the Keys chain. Southeast through southwest swells from the Atlantic hit with near-full strength, east energy partially attenuated. Reef structure helps dampen wave energy.
