Entry and exit can be challenging due to the rocky shoreline. Timing with waves is important, and booties are highly recommended for protection.

Beach access is relatively easy with a short walk from the parking lot. The beach is rocky, so appropriate footwear is recommended.

The site hosts a variety of marine life including garibaldi, kelp bass, sheephead, and various species of rockfish. Lobsters and octopuses can be found in rocky crevices. The area is also known for its abundance of sea urchins.

The underwater landscape features rocky reefs and small kelp beds. Interesting formations include small caves and crevices. The site slopes gradually to deeper water, with a mix of rocky areas and sand patches.

There's a large parking lot at White Point Beach Park. Parking is typically ample, but the lot can fill up on weekends and holidays.

White Point Beach Park offers restrooms and outdoor showers. There are also picnic areas and a children's playground nearby.

High, especially on weekends. This is one of the most popular training sites in the Los Angeles area, with multiple dive classes often present simultaneously. The beach area can get crowded with divers setting up equipment. The underwater space is large enough that congestion decreases once you're diving, but expect to see many other divers, particularly near the artificial reef structures.

Be aware of training classes in the water, which may include inexperienced divers who need extra space. Boat traffic can be heavy in the nearby harbor entrance; use a dive flag when surfacing. The underwater navigation can be challenging due to the predominantly sandy bottom with few natural landmarks. During winter storms, visibility can deteriorate rapidly due to runoff and wave action. Stingrays are common in the sandy shallows; shuffle your feet when walking to avoid painful stings.
