Southwest-facing protected cove ideal for beginners. Headlands on both sides significantly attenuate swell from all directions. S and SSW swells refract into the cove at moderate exposure. SW is attenuated by the cove geometry. W through NW are well blocked by the northern headland and coastal angle. One of the most protected sites in Mendocino County. River runoff affects visibility after rain.
