N. Crescent Bay

Given the sandy and flat beach, entry and exit is generally easy unless there is high surf.

There is a stairway leading to the beach. Compared to Shaw's Cove, the stairs are not as steep, but there are more of them, generally an easier walk down to the beach.

Crescent Bay is home to diverse marine life including moray eels, schools of fish, sea lions, and occasionally comb jellyfish. Sea lions are frequently seen and can be very playful with divers. The remnants of Pinnacles also offer a glimpse into a habitat full of marine life.

The dive site features a mix of rock and sand structures. Deadman's Reef is a prominent underwater feature, rising sharply from a depth of about 50 feet to 10-15 feet depending on the tide. Seal Rock, also known as Sea Lion Rock, and the area between Seal Rock and Deadman's Reef are popular dive spots. The Pinnacles, though mostly destroyed by El Nino in 1997, still have some remaining rock formations.

Arrive Early! Although free, parking can be tricky as it is along the streets in the neighborhood. Spaces fill up quickly, especially on weekends and holidays, so it's advisable to arrive early to secure a spot. If there is no parking on Circle Way, try Crescent Bay Dr although that means you'll have to climb 2 flights of stairs to get to the beach.

Moderate to high on weekends and holidays. The beach itself is popular with tourists and locals alike. Divers typically spread out once in the water, with Deadman's Reef being the most popular underwater destination.

Be aware of boat traffic, especially on weekends when recreational boaters are active. Currents can be strong between Deadman's Reef and Seal Rock during tide changes. The entry/exit involves navigating stairs and potentially slippery rocks. Waves and surge can be significant even when the surface appears calm, particularly around the reef structures. Properly secure loose gear, as surge can dislodge equipment.
